Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Minsk (the capital of Belarus), is one of the children of Sergey. Sergey was a professional hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. She has won 12 WTA titles during her career, which includes the Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. In addition, she's an outstanding doubles player. She's won two Majors to her name in this category, the US Open 2019 and the Australian Open 2021 won both together with Elise Mertens. Also, she achieved The Sunshine Double in 2019, winning the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens. This feat was only achieved by four couples in the women's doubles. Her ranking went from second to third on the world singles ranking on the 23rd of August in 2021. The highest ranking she achieved was again achieved in January of 2023. Following her victory at the Melbourne doubles competition in February 2021 and gaining the doubles title, she managed climb the ranks and take over the top spot on the list of that particular specialty. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach from 2018, until the season finished in 2019 and then for a limited time at the start of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann played a short partnership with her from the month of August to September. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow countryman, has been coaching her for the past year. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely and then Maria Sharapova.
